SourceSteer – Kayak Foot Steering System *PRE-ORDER*

Bring a new level of efficiency to your motorized kayak – SourceSteer uses full metal construction to provide a strong and rigid foundation. Utilizing bearings to give you a buttery smooth action that can hold up in all conditions, and extruded aluminum rails to keep you on track. Add optional accessories like Spectra Cord or foot peg covers (Coming Soon) to help complete your setup. This system provides knurled foot pegs that prevent your feet from slipping and allow for finer control. The tension between the rail and the wheels is adjustable to provide a tight, wobble free experience.

The foot peg covers provide increased comfort for bare-foot users. Covered in EVA foam and made with ASA plastic. It simply clamps on to the existing foot peg and can be angled however you like.

The included mounting brackets let your raise or lower the whole system to find what works best for you. For example, on a Crescent Shoalie, raising it helps provide the clearance needed for the foot peg assembly to not rub on any of the plastic. This doesn’t sacrifice any rigidity or comfort from my testing. The first thing that flexes is the plastic on the kayak.

This was developed and tested on a Crescent Shoalie, which from the factory had SEA-LECT Designs footbraces. This should fit on any kayak that had foot rails previously, and uses 1/4″-20 screws with spacing less than 16″.

With this system utilizing bearings as a means of smooth action, this means you must maintain them. If you are in a saltwater environment, these MUST be rinsed off after each use. Replacement parts in case of a ceased bearing will be available.
